SPA's

There are thousands of spa's and massage parlors in Thailand offering a range of different treatments. Regardless of what relaxation treatment you are after you’ll find it in your area with the help of the BKK Town website. Most people who come to Thailand want to experience a Thai massage. There are two types of Thai massages available and we explain the differences below. You can then decide what best fits your needs.

Traditional Spa - Massage

- this involves the therapist using hands, feet and elbows to massage the customer. You will be manipulated into different positions designed to stretch muscles and release tension. If you haven’t had this type of massage before you will feel your muscles stretching but the therapist will not push you into an uncomfortable position. Additionally, the therapist may walk over your legs and (sometimes) back, but relax - they know what they are doing.

Royal Massage

- with this technique the therapist uses fingers and hand only, and follows the general flow of the body to ease aches and pain. The style has its origins in the royal palace in Ayutthaya centuries ago, and does not involve any manipulation of the body. This type of massage however, is difficult to find. We suggest if you haven't experienced a Thai massage before, start with a one hour session. Talk to tha spa recepitionist and let her know if you unsure.

Spas

- Thailand is well known for its day spas, many of which are located in top 4 and 5 star hotels. You can make an appointment for an hour long massage, or totally indulge yourself with a full day package including 4-6 hours of treatments ranging from manicures and pedicures to full body wraps and facials. Prices are often only a third of what you would pay to visit similar establishments in Europe. So don’t miss the opportunity when you are here.

Facial massage

Facial massage is a very popular beauty treatment to slow down the aging process and achieve younger-looking and healthier skin. It is also used to relieve stress, migraine headache's and sinus congestion. It may involve a whole massage session, a portion of a whole-body massage or a part of a facial treatment. Facial massage can be done by a professional massage therapist, an esthetician, or a cosmetologist. Anyway, it´s very relaxing and well worth the money you pay in Thailand. Alsomst all spa's offer this treatment.
