Shopping centers
Bangkok has everything you need when it comes to shopping. Whether you hanker for exclusive designer labels or relish bargaining for cheap products, Bangkok's shopping centres have it all. Many shopping malls have so many regular promotional events, if you pay attention you can get a bargin every day of the week. Look for those deals you will not be dissapointed. Since the truly efficient BTS skytrain and MRT underground system opened, flitting from shop to shop couldn’t be easier.
Bangkok Shopping Complexes
For shopaholics visiting Bangkok, it’s important to dedicate time to check out at least one of its massive shopping complexes. These complexes house everything ranging from food courts, restaurants, department stores, brand name outlets, cinemas, fun parks, bowling alleys, and even an aquarium at one site. Gaysorn Plaza, Siam Paragon, Central World and The Emporium are just a few fine examples of ultimate one-stop shopping centres worth visiting.
Cinemas
Cinemas are also located with most shopping centres. It’s worth noting that the cost of a new release film is around 120 baht (approx. USD3) for a normal seat. If you can afford it however,
go for a ‘VIP’ seat (prices range from 300-600 baht). The ticket price includes drinks and snacks before the movie, huge reclining sofa (some even have a massage chair!), pillow, blanket, socks
and at some cinemas you even have a private waitress.
MBK
This enormous eight story complex is home to some of the best shopping in Bangkok, and offers a myriad of other facilities and activities under the one roof. Start your shopping on the lower floors, where you’ll find small shops selling clothes, leather bags, luggage, belts, shoes and jewelry. Several photo and print shops are also found here, so order your business cards, photos or custom designed T-shirts early in the day and collect them later. You can also expect great bargains on T-shirts, children’s clothes, homewares, cosmetics and scarves. Visit the IT section on the 4th floor if you’re in the market for cheap DVD’s, or cell phones.
