In Thailand there are many alternative when looking for accommodation. The cheapest one often used is to book into a guesthouse room. Guesthouse Rooms
There is a large variance in the quality of guesthouse rooms. You usually have the choice of air-conditioning or just a fan depending on your price range. If you have a travel companion most places will have rooms with two beds where two people can stay. There is rarely a safe in the room so be aware of your belongings we don’t want you losing anything. Some guesthouses will have a safe in the reception that you can use for free or for a small amount each day.
Backpackers
There are many backpackers that come to Thailand, and they often stay at guesthouses, often close to Kosan Road. There is are plenty of magazines to read that will give you the best tips on what not to miss. These magazines can be found in any 7 eleven store or in the many and bookshops, Asia books is a good place start. These books have all the information, so study closely and it will help you to keep your budget.
Water, air condition and toilets
Most guesthouses have hot water, air conditioned rooms and private toilets, but to be sure read the information closely. Some guesthouses do not offer all of these services. It’s all depend on what you are looking for and what you budget is. Many of the guesthouses in Bangkok offers same service as a regular hotel.
You can find a guesthouse for as low as 200 baht, but then you have to be prepaired for a very simple room with a fan and a public toilet without hot water. So in the end it’s all up to what you want to spend. Check our listing, they all have a great value.
