Golf courses
If you plan to visit Thailand and Bangkok to play golf, you’re making a wise choice. Playing golf here is not as difficult as people believe as your options are extensive, and at most courses you can hire both clubs and shoes. Within a 60 minute radius of central Bangkok there are more than 50 golf courses, and a further 100 within a 2 hour drive. The green fees range from 600 baht to 5000 baht depending on when and where you want to play. Weekdays are always cheaper than the weekends and it's quieter on the course. We suggest you take a close look at our golf courses and read other players’ reviews to find the perfect match for your game.
Caddies
Caddies in Thailand are compulsory and you find you will need one. You will have one assigned upon arrival at the course. Caddies will help you select clubs for different distances, and help you read the greens. You and your clubs will be well looked after. If you are here for a while and find a caddie who works well for you, you can book the same caddie for your next round. Just tell the receptionist the caddie’s number when you book.
Golf cart
In Thailand it can be very hot and initially you will find a cart very useful to preserve your strength and to get out of the sun. At some golf courses it is mandatory to use a golf cart, but many courses give you the option. Carts cost between 400-600 Baht depending on where you play. Most golf courses allow only one person plus the caddie to a golf cart, but some courses permit two golfers to share a cart.
Courses
You’d be hard pressed to find a bad golf course in Thailand. There are hundreds of courses in excellent condition. You will enjoy playing them, and making the most of the facilities available. Most of Bangkok's golf courses are on the outskirts of the city. You can get there by taxi for 400 to 600 Baht.
All golf courses on BKK Town have a map that you can print off and give to the driver, so getting there won’t be a problem. Make sure you book tee time first. Good luck!
